Settings

Type ⌘, or from the menu, choose Curatory ▸ Settings. Use Curatory's settings to modify the look, feel, and functionality of your application. We added everything we could think of that would be useful, but contact the developer if you have other ideas.

Overview

Settings are separated into clearly-named categories for simplicity. Each category contains settings that are relevant to that topic, and the last-used tab will be active each time settings are opened.

Tab bar

A separate tab represents each category of settings. Click through General, Preview, Filing, and Resoration to see the options present under each.

General

General settings include the appearance and layout of the application.

Appearance
Theme System matches your system's theme, while Light or Dark override the Mac's own setting for Curatory.
Collection layout
File list position Shift the file list from the default left to the right side of the window.

Preview

Control file preview defaults to change the way your images are presented.

Previews
Background order Change whether the dark or light tile is presented at the top.
Default size Set the default zoom preset (32 · 64 · 128 · 256 · 512 px) your images will display at when the 0 key is pressed.
Background colors
Dark tile Change the color of the dark background tile to whatever you like.
Light tile Change the color of the light background tile to whatever you like.
Restore defaults Reset both background colors to the Curatory default.
Animated files
Automatically play files Turn automatic playback on or off. The play/pause toggle in the Collection works either way.

Filing

Curatory was created to organize a large folder of custom emoji. The quickest and easiest way to do this is by assigning keys to move them into specific subfolders. Use the Filing settings to assign a directory to any of the number keys, 1-9. Empty fields are unset, so the corresponding shortcut key will not be active. Folders are created as-needed when sorting emoji. Duplicate names are allowed; essentially creating multiple shortcuts that do the same thing. Only valid folder characters are allowed.

Destinations
Key 1 - 9 Type the name of a subdirectory for each key you wish. Empty the field to unset.

Restoration

The Restoration bench has settings for file backup.

Backups
Back up originals on Save Disable the automatic creation of backup files.
Show edited badge Disable the badge that shows a file has been edited. When on, this only shows in the Collection file list.
Open backup folder The backup folder cannot be modified, but this button will open it in Finder.
